Restoration on Route 66
About this campaign
We’re on a mission to reach people with the Good News! It’s that simple.
We go where God leads, utilizing the tools He provides us, the gifts He has given us, and the vessels He puts on our path. Restoration on Route 66 is a mission of allinn. The name allinn comes from the parable of the Good Samaritan, who came upon a wounded traveler, after others had passed by on the other side, brought him to an inn and took care of him, even returning to check on the traveler until he was healed. Jesus tells us to be like the Good Samaritan, helping others in times of need, even when they are ignored by everyone else.
When people need our help the most is when our love for them is truly tested. As we try to live this out the way Jesus tells us, He brings us right where the need is. This is how the Restoration on Route 66 mission came about. “Route 66” is a way to reach people in need, even when they don’t know they are in need. With the Centennial celebration of Route 66 this year, and the 250th birthday of our country, many people are paying attention to Route 66, searching it online and even coming from all over the world to travel on the historic road that stretches from Chicago to Santa Monica. We’ve already witnessed many encounters, which all began at a stop on Route 66, that resulted in bringing people to Christ. By reaching people with a common interest in Route 66, we’re able to develop a connection that leads to fellowship and friendship, opening the door to bring them the Good News. The real Route 66 isn’t the physical span of road. The true Route 66 is the Word of God in the 66 books of the Bible! This is the route we’re on, and the one we invite our friends and neighbors to join us on.
There are three main components to this mission. We’ve tested these components and fine tuned them for peak performance. Now it’s time to put these parts in the vehicle and get ready for the race! We’re in the process of putting the three components online now: On Route 66 – We engage people at community events, family activities, social gatherings, group meets, pop-ups, and any place people come together. We’re on Route 66 wherever we go. In fact, a great conversation starter is when someone asks “Why are you here at this event? What does this have to do with Route 66?” Restoration on Route 66 – We help those in need, and share the testimonies of the people we meet along the way. We utilize media to reach people everywhere. We hope to share these inspiring stories of restoration through a streaming TV series. Justateacher on Route 66 – We are forming a “Pit Crew” of teachers to help equip and strengthen each other for The Mission, the Great Commission. Route 66 Centennial and America 250 Celebrations There are many in need right now, and we are already on the mission field every day. Celebrations are fun ways to raise awareness for the mission, but aren’t the focus or goal. Fellowship through celebrations are a great tool to engage in our community and identify the need.
We officially launched on May 23rd, with the publication of DuWayne Lee’s Friendship Evangelism book. Through the launch celebration, God immediately began using this book release to bring us to those in need. We’ve heard from several people who would like our help in publishing their testimonies. One woman told us she had been working with an author who was writing her story, but the author passed away suddenly. She has a powerful testimony that has the ability to reach many people who can relate to her experience. We would like to help get her book finished and published. This is just one of the many ways the launch celebration of a book has helped identify a variety of specific needs and brought us right where we are needed. The day to day operation of this mission is our primary focus. Being able to sustain and maintain our missionaries while they are on the mission field is critical to a successful mission. Reaching people through community events and activities is an effective component of the mission. The weekend of Independence Day marked the kickoff of this mission and began the yearlong celebration of America 250 and the Route 66 Centennial, providing a great vehicle for outreach. Our resources will be utilized in priority order to achieve success in this mission. We’re stronger together! We’ve been on this mission for a while, and have witnessed amazing results. We humbly seek your support to help us continue to reach those in need and expand our reach.
